Fun fact about Bristol Motor Speedway: January 7th, 1961, local Tennessee native and recreational conglomerate owner Larry Carrier announced his plans on building a track in the Bristol area, in doing so this would expand his recreational conglomerate with the Tri-Cities Tennessee area.
