FYI: Pocono is home to the glorious Pennsylvania mountains. This was the first time the next-gen care debuted at the Tricky Triangle and prior to the drop of the green flag, concerns were raised. I am referring to Kurt Busch crashing in qualifying the day before the race and resulting in him getting a concussion. Now I am going to be honest and admit that I did not get a chance to watch the race due to being on vacation with my friend and his family. The big headline that I saw for this race besides Kurt Busch's concussion is the disqualification of two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers aka Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. Busch led a race-high of sixty-three laps and his teammate Hamlin led twenty-one laps. NASCAR discovered that the front fascia which affects the aerodynamics of the car was illegal on the #11 and #18 cars which resulted in their finishing spots being voided. In the end, the third place car of Chase Elliott has been credited the victory even though he never lead a single lap. Now the series heads off to the historical Indianapolis Speedway for the road course, who knows what will happen?Â
Next race: Indy Road Course on Sunday afternoon (7-31-2022).
