FYI: For the second year in a row NASCAR rode into Austin, Texas for Circuit of The Americas. Compared to last year. everything was different such as how the weather was, the crashes, and how competitive the race was. Twist and turns are the challenges the drivers faced with it being the first road course of the 2022 season, and boy was it exciting. Drivers like Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain led some laps and drivers like Kyle Larson and Joey Logano had their fair share of issues despite being decent road course racers. Multiple cautions happened towards the closing laps of the race thus resulting in an overtime finish where drivers were not going to give an inch to their fellow competitors. A hard-fought battle between Ross Chastain, and Alex Bowman ensued when Chastain led at the white flag, but Allmendinger was not too far behind and waited to make his move. Alex Bowman was not too far behind them and wanted his chance to take the lead, but Chastain pushed Allmendinger in turn 19. Resulting in Bowman and Allmendinger getting together and Chastain pulling away from them and earning his first victory of the 2022 season and the first of his career. Need I mention that the owner of Ross' team Trackhouse Racing a.k.a. Justin Marks birthday was today! Smash that watermelon Ross because you're a Cup Series winner now!
Next race: Richmond Raceway on Sunday afternoon (4-3-2022).
